Janayhe Self is the advertising sales representative for Element Media also known for publishing Pacific Edge Magazine. She has enjoyed more than 3 years selling print and web advertising. She has a strong PR background, hosting events, radio promos, and speaking engagements. Janayhe’s former background is in mortgage finance and she has grown up with a love for the arts. She graduated from Kauai High School and attended University of Hawaii in Honolulu as a theatre/dance major. She has resided in Hawaii Kai for 4 years and feels a real connection to the community as well as a desire to bring local businesses together for a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Gindi French grew up in Southern California finally settling in the Pasadena area. She began her career working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory while in high school. To facilitate a career in spacecraft & instrumentation engineering, she attended the State of California Polytechnic University, Pomona as a mechanical engineering major. Ten years of engineering work allowed Gindi to work on several spacecrafts and deep sea instruments fulfilling a dream of exploring extreme environments. Life’s changes brought Gindi to Hawaii where she became involved in the trades, and now is the owner of B.J. Genz Plumbing LLC.    She is a member of the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce, the Honolulu Executive Association, the East Honolulu Breakfast Club and other trade and charitable organizations. Gindi lives in Hawai’i Kai with her husband, Lloyd, and their three children.

zahava czaraZahava Czara is a Kalani High School alumni, and studied International Business Development & Fashion Marketing in colleges in Massachusetts and California. In 1997, influenced by a massage & chiropractic family background, she became a chiropractic assistant for five years in Santa Monica, California. She followed her dreams in fashion and the natural health fields before moving back to Oahu in 2004 to teach massage licensing courses at Remington College Honolulu, and served as Director of Development at The International School of Beauty in Waikiki in 2006. By 2007 Zahava trademarked her independent business name in massage therapy: Nui Kino Massage. Nui Kino is working in conjunction with Refresh 808 Skin Care for Men & Women. Skin Expert Bonnie Ketring from Arizona helps take care of unwanted hair, and beautifies the skin! As a proud resident and business owner in the community Zahava is delighted to serve on the HKCC Board since 2008 and looks forward to helping strengthen the relations we all have in business with one another.

chelsey kobatake flanaganChelsey Kobatake Flanagan was born and raised in Hawai’i Kai, and has spent most of her professional career working with local residents and businesses. She is a Realtor®-Broker with Kobatake Realty, LLC  and has been licensed since February 2003. Her commitment to her clients’ long-term success is not only a passion but is the foundation of her business and is what has helped her remain successful since earning her license. As a graduate of the University of Hawai’i (Bachelor’s in Journalism/Public Relations) and graduate of Hawai’i Pacific University’s M.B.A program, she brings knowledge, skill and real-world experience to every endeavor. In addition to her real estate background, she spent 2 years as an Account Manager for a local advertising/marketing firm where she worked on commercial real estate, a major restaurant chain, and shopping center accounts, including Hawai’i Kai’s own Koko Marina Center. She is also a staff writer for the East Oahu Sun, member of the BNI Po’okela chapter and a member of the Junior League of Honolulu. Chelsey believes in community and all the support that everyone within it requires…she looks forward to serving the businesses and community of Hawai’i Kai.

delorese-gregoire.pngDelorese Gregoire is the founding director of Winners Camp Foundation and Hawai’i Leadership Academy for Teenagers, a non-profit organization that has been active in the community since 1985.  She founded Hawai’i Study Tours, which brought students from around the world to study in Hawai’i, and is currently the director of Hawai’i Homestay.   In addition to the Hawai’i Leadership Academy for Teenagers programs offered throughout the year, Gregoire has developed specialized programs with the Department of Education, the Department of Health, and private foundations such as the Estate of James Campbell, the S.W. Wilcox Trust, Rotary of Hawai’i, and the Kamehameha Schools Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estate; businesses and financial institutions; and private and public schools across the islands.

noble turnerNoble Turner Ph.D. grew up in stark poverty in the Appalachian mountains of W.Va., where he learned descipline and ‘stick-to-it-tiveness,’ as a child. He paid his way through college playing in a rock band. Noble has been a music teacher, a model in Hollywood and Boston, and a Psychiatric Clinic Director for 15 years, in Boston. With three grown children, Noble has his own Realty Company, Noble Turner Realty Int’l and has been a 20 year resident of Hawai’i Kai.

Jodi UeharaJodi Uehara has been a sales rep for C&S Sales for the past 2 ½ years. C&S Sales creates custom packaging and provides promotional products to various businesses. Prior to that, she has worked for 5 years at a graphic design company and 10 years in the hotel industry. She belongs to organizations such as Business Network International, American Advertising Federation, Hawaii Society of Business Professionals and Social Wahines. Jodi also serves on the Board of her sons’ school, Aliiolani Elementary and has organized Adopt a School Day for both Aliiolani Elementary and Moanalua High School in 2009. She loves spending time with her 3 kids and in her spare time, enjoys traveling and photography.
