Friends of Hanauma Bay Scholarship Donation.

Mahalo for all that you do for our island home.

The Board of Directors of the Friends of Hanauma Bay (FOHB) is excited to announce the establishment of the Friends of Hanauma Bay Scholarship Program in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the designation of Hanauma Bay as the State of Hawaii’s first Marine Life Conservation District (MLCD). This important milestone in the history of Hawaii’s conservation programs is directly responsible for preserving the spectacular beauty and abundant diversity of marine life we find today, and was the precursor to ten more MLCDs that exist to date throughout the state.

The FOHB Scholarship Program is intended to recognize one or more graduating seniors at the Henry J. Kaiser High School who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to supporting FOHB’s conservation mission. Our goal is to award at least two $1,000 scholarships in 2018.

We hope you will consider joining the generous donors who have already contributed to the Scholarship Program. Any amount will make a difference to these hard-working students. And, through December 31, 2017, we have a matching grant that effectively doubles you contribution. You can make your year -end donat ion through the “Donate” but ton at www.friendsofhanaumabay.org or by mailing a check, with Scholarship Fund indicated on the memo line, to Friends of Hanauma Bay, P. O. Box 25761, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825-0761.

Mahalo nui loa for helping us get off to a great start in supporting the next generation of environmental leaders in our community!
